May 27th: A Day at Home

@vogtteacherlib: #bookaday Grimm Fairy Tales graphic novel and started 1984 (mind blowing). Reading 1984 for bookclub can't believe I haven't read it before this time.

Truck Reading

Day 6 : spent most of the day in the car. Finish After Ever After and read Night Bookmobile. Another dark story.

Starting Book A Day

Hey I'm starting Book A Day. I will be recording my experience this summer here on my blog and Twitter. My twitter handle is @vogtteacherlib and I will use hashtag #bookaday. 

Here's what it is. During summer vacation I will be reading at least one book everyday. 

I am doing this as a part of my goal for the fall. If I ask my students to be "wild readers" I need to show and practice it as well. 

From time to time I will also post pics of this little adventure.

This idea came from Donalyn Miller (@donalynmiller) a teacher and author. There are other teachers and librarians who are also setting this as a goal this summer. Check out Nerdy Book Club online or follow them on Twitter.
