July 20-22
#bookaday July 20-22: Followers by Davies, Eight Keys by LaFleur and Flight by @Sherman_Alexie
I am slowly making my way through the Golden Sower list this summer. I know...its almost the end of the July. School starts in like three weeks...but Golden Sowers have not been top priority this summer for me. Not sure why. Of course I still have three I didn't read from last year's list as well. Maybe I get to them, maybe I don't
In the middle of Prisoner B-3087 by Alan Gratz. Pretty amazing account. Pretty sad account.
Had the library opened today for students to check out books this summer. I have one more week to be open. I will be reflecting about what I thought about this little summer project starting next week.

A little project happening this year in the library
@vogtteacherlib: #bookaday July 10 These little gems came with the Tandem Bike Poets that I learned from and met tonight. These little books will be showing up in the library this year. Prep--what are you the expert of students and staff?

July 4th
#bookaday July 4: I had a fantastic reading morning. Graphic Novels - Chickenhare, Missle Mouse, The Silversix, MS Worse than Meatloaf & Eighth Grade is Making Me Sick. Not to mention I also read half of another Sookie Stackhouse book. Happy 4th of July!
It was truly a relaxing morning with great results that affect my students. They have loved these graphic novels and now I know what to suggest and how to suggest them.
Been thinking a lot about how I am going to use what I have done this summer with students. More on this to come but I am also working out how to use "Reading in the Wild" and "Book Love" as a part of what I do on a daily basis with kids.

June 27-July 3
June 27-July 1: Continued a new series that I bought for my students at the library.
#bookaday July 2-3 Mal and Chad Series feels a little like Calvin and Hobbs but lovable.
So my total at this point of amount of books read this summer is roughly 55. That's how many I read all school year last year! I have a pile at home waiting for me.
Here's the funny thing about all this...every time I go into my library or the public library I walk out with 5-8 books.
